		Our Lady of the Mountains Assembly has undertaken a project to refurbish the altar chalices and ceboriums at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. They were originally purchased in 1999 and over the last 10 years, due to finger perspiration of the Extraordinary Ministers and the recipients, the gold coating has become tarnished and discolored. There are 10 chalices in the need of attention and we are still evaluating the number of ceboriums that will require refurbishing. The cost of refurbishing these holy items is approximately $250.00 each. One of the most important items regarding these holy vessels is that the names of our deceased members are engraved on the chalices upon their death as a memorial to their deep faith in the Church while with us.   We are now in the process of setting up a campaign to raise the required funding to accomplish this task. We are requesting anyone who can make a donation, no matter how small or large, to send a check made out to the Knights of Columbus and either bring to church and place in offering basket or mail to St. Barnabas Catholic Church (Marked for the attention of Joe Albert), Post Office Box 39, Arden, NC 28704-0039 Please be sure to state in the check Memo Line that it is for the Chalice Restoration Fund.
